Dr. Sylvie De Buck
Sylvie joined IPBO in September 2013. Before, she was a post-doc (2000-2012) in the Plant Systems Biology lab at VIB. Her research was situated in the areas of Agrobacterium mediated transformation, gene expression variability, gene silencing and molecular farming.
She optained a PhD in Sciences at Ghent University in 2000 by performing research on Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of – and gene silencing in Arabidopsis thaliana”.
At IPBO, Dr. Sylvie De Buck is responsible for cooperation on applied research in the field of plant biotechnology between research institutes/organizations in Flanders, developing countries and emerging economies.
