Stewardships and integrated pest management for generic GM crops

After 20 years at the University, mainly in France, Georges FREYSSINET joined Rhône-Poulenc (RP) Agro in 1984 to set up a laboratory on plant molecular and cellular biology. In 1992, he joined the Scientific Direction of the RP Group as Scientific Advisor for Life Sciences. In 1998, he became the CEO of RhoBio, a joint venture between RP Agro and Biogemma. After the setting up of Aventis, he was Director for plant genomics between 2000 and 2003. In May 2003 he left BayerCropScience (who bought Aventis CropScience in 2001) to join Biogemma and took the responsibilities of the genomic and bioinformatics platform in Evry (France) while being the President of the Management Board of RhoBio. He is founder of LemnaGene, a BioManufacturing Company and CEO of that company from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, he joined the Scientific Direction of Group Limagrain as Scientific Director from 2008 to 2011 and then became CEO of Genective, a joint venture between Groups Limagrain and KWS from 2011 to 2013 developing GM maize. Retired since 2014, he continues independent consulting activities in plant biotechnologies.
