The Kringloop Labs Initiative aims to reduce failure risks sustainably by using a comprehensive screening process at various levels.

To guarantee the quality of donated equipment, we will conduct a comprehensive quality assessment to verify that all devices and equipment are in good working condition and that spare parts are readily available. We will evaluate the financial and environmental feasibility of repairing the equipment if repairs are necessary. Additionally, we will create a detailed catalogue of available equipment, which candidate laboratories can use to facilitate the setup of their project applications.

    Receiving Laboratories
    Kringloop lab

    For receiving laboratories, several selection criteria will apply;

    • The laboratory will be open to entire departments or programs, not individual researchers. The equipment/training package shall reach the most significant number of scientists and their students.
    • The stability of the institution and the country will be taken into account.
    • The educational and scientific track record will be evaluated- especially activities that allow more students to have hands-on practice in the laboratories or that increase the number of practical hours.
    • The availability of infrastructure and additional services and facilities at the Research Department that shall receive the equipment and the access to equipment maintenance shall be assessed.
